Square Enix has blocked 5,037 players in Final Fantasy XIV who traded with real money and another 814 users who advertised similar services. The developers announced this on the official forum.
The banning wave took place between February 25 and March 3. Selling items, equipment, accounts, as well as boosting services are equated by developers to cheating. Square Enix reported that trading with real money seriously affected game balance and asked all gamers to report such cases to moderators.
Square Enix previously released Endwalker for Final Fantasy XIV. Its release is scheduled for fall 2021. Along with the DLC, two new professions will appear in the game: support and fighter. The first was named Sage (from the English “wise man”), and the second will be told in the spring. Square Enix also noted that a new story chapter would begin with the release of Endwalker in the MMORPG.
