Starting Wednesday, December 22, 2021, all PlayStation players who have redeemed Final Fantasy VII Remake in the free March 2021 games with PS Plus will be able to upgrade to PS5 at no cost. Square Enix has decided to celebrate Christmas by unlocking the upgrade even for those who have not purchased the game for PS4, and in order not to miss anything, has announced that the DLC of Yuffie will be discounted by 25% for a limited time, a considerable purchase incentive for those interested in further investigating the story.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in April 2020 on PS4, and the PS5 version was announced in February 2021, with a release scheduled for June 10. The free upgrade from PS4 to PS5, available to anyone who bought the game, has never been available to owners of the PS Plus version of Final Fantasy VII Remake given away in March. Still, now Square Enix has confirmed that starting from December 22, the ability to upgrade will be extended to anyone.
In a second announcement, the software house also stated that to celebrate, it will be possible to buy the Yuffie DLC at a discount for a limited period, with the price of the expansion going from € 19.99 to € 14.99. Once purchased, the contents of the free PS Plus version will be virtually identical to those of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, on sale on the PS Store for € 79.99.
The PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake includes improved textures and lighting, fog effect, new difficulties, photo modes, ultra-fast loading, 60fps mode, and quality of life improvements. It will also be possible to see Cloud’s apartment door in high definition for your happiness.
