Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade: New trailer shows PS5 improvements

Sony has shared a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, providing a comprehensive look at the visual enhancements and new features available on PS5.

The trailer looks a lot like the one we saw during the reveal, but we now get to see more of the improved visuals. For example, a direct comparison is made with the PS4 version. Furthermore, the improved textures, lighting, fog effects, photo mode, faster loading times and more are shown.

There will be a ‘Graphics Optimization Mode’ that gives priority to 4K graphics and a ‘Performance Optimization Mode’ that prioritises a frame rate of 60fps.

A Normal (classic) difficulty is also added. This one makes FF7 Remake feel a bit more like the original by adding turn-based combat.

Yuffie was also shown. She will be part of a new story that is part of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. The trailer also highlighted that anyone who purchased Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 (not the version claimable on PlayStation Plus) would get a free upgrade. Still, the PS5-exclusive Yuffie episode will cost money.

Intergrade will be available from June 10, 2021. Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura has already indicated that no further DLC is planned for the game. The team will focus on finishing the second part of the FF7 Remake saga.
