FIFA 23, the latest installment of the sports series created in collaboration between EA and FIFA, will not include the clubs and the Russian national team, nor will it allow users to find players like Akinfeev, Mário Fernandes, and Miranchuk in the Ultimate Team mode. EA Sports had already applied these restrictions on FIFA 22 after the start of the war in Ukraine, and now in a new statement sent to Eurogamer, it has confirmed that the situation will not change with the new chapter of the series.
“EA Sports is in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and like many other voices in the world of football, asks for the invasion of Ukraine to stop and for peace to return,” writes EA to the Eurogamer editorial team. “In line with the decisions made by our partners FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will remove the Russian national football team and all clubs from FIFA 23 “. The studio also specified that the game would continue not to be distributed in Russia and Belarus, either in physical or digital format, at least until peace returns to Ukraine.
FIFA 23 will be available from September 30 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC, and also on the Legacy Edition version of Nintendo Switch.
