Right now, all iPhone, iPad, and Mac owners can play Fantasian, Mistwalker’s new turn-based JRPG. The game may be the last original creation of Final Fantasy’s father, Horinobu Sakaguchi, and is downloadable by subscribing to the Apple Arcade gaming service.
In Fantasian, players take on the young swordsman Leo’s role, who awakens in an unknown location after hearing a loud explosion. The protagonist will have to embark on a long journey to recover his memory and save the world from a terrible infection that is slowly swallowing everything. The combat system is classic turn-based, with an interesting twist in the mechanics of random encounters. In fact, players can decide to activate the “Dimengeon” and transfer all the monsters encountered in an alternate dimension, and then fight them in one go once they have reached the maximum cap of thirty trapped creatures.
Fantasian is available in Japanese and English, and the space required for installation is 4 GB. To download, subscribe to Apple Arcade (€ 4.99 per month) or activate the thirty-day free trial if you have not already done so.
