EVE Online developer CCP Games is working on a new FPS set in the same universe. It is the studio’s third attempt at this type of project.
CCP Games announced, at EVE Fanfest 2022 (via PCGamesN), that the shooter is already in development. Although it hasn’t shown any trailer yet, it did show some concept art.
“We recognize that a sci-fi FPF game set in the EVE universe is a very popular concept. CCP is committed to an innovative multiplayer shooter,” said the developer; made the concept evolve.”
The title is being developed at CCP Games’ London offices rather than the main studio in Reykjavik, the Icelandic capital. Otherwise, little more is known about the project.
Dust 514 was the first shooter experience in the EVE universe. It was released in 2013 for PlayStation in a free format but ended up being shut down three years later after little success.
In 2018, Project Nova emerged, once again from CCP Games. It would end up being canceled in 2020. It remains to be seen if the third is for good.
