Cosmonaut Studios has announced that it will release Eternal Threads for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in the third quarter of 2021.
Located in Liverpool, England, Cosmonaut Studios is formed by former Magenta Software members, known for the Buzz! Junior and InviZimals: The Lost Kingdom and movie-based games (like Stuart Little 3: Big Photo Adventure for PS2 and Disney’s Treasure Planet for PS1).
Eternal Threads is a single-player first-person puzzle game of manipulation of time, choice, and consequence.
As an agent charged with fixing corruption in the flow of time, you were sent to northern England in May 2015, where six people died in a house fire. Forbidden to stop the fire, you should instead manipulate the choices made by your housemates the previous week so that everyone survives the event.
From the beginning, you are free to explore the timeline seven days before the fire. You can watch and change significant events for the entire week as often as you like and in the order you want. Some decisions will have only minor effects on the timeline, moving objects around the house or revealing deeper stories and secrets. However, major changes rewrite the timeline by changing existing events, adding new events, and even replacing others.
You must go up and down that timeline, changing decisions at different times throughout the week so that its effects interact and combine to save all six housemates.
However, it is not just housemates who have options. Each of them can be saved from the fire in several ways, with each outcome having a profound effect on their lives in the future. Will you look for the quickest and easiest solution, or can you find the best possible outcome for everyone?
