Gaijin Entertainment and Darkflow Software announce that the new online military shooter, Enlisted, is now available to everyone on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and PlayStation 5. The game features the Battle for Moscow and the Normandy Landing campaigns, which were significantly improved during the closed beta tests. There will be regular updates with new campaigns in the future.
Enlisted is a shooter set in World War II realities, which faithfully reflects the nature of great infantry battles with the support of tanks and planes. The creators of the game paid a lot of attention to the authenticity of weapons and equipment, as well as their historical “availability.” For example, in the Battle of Moscow campaign, we will not see the Tiger tank because, in 1941, it was not yet in service with the German army. At the same time, Enlisted made it much easier. You can start the game than most other simulators, and the player can quickly jump into the action and spend most of the time actually fighting.
“We focused on making Enlisted feel like real WWII battles, but we didn’t forget that it’s primarily a game. We’re trying to find the golden mean between the smooth and enjoyable gameplay typical of shooters and the brutal realism of military simulators.”Eugene Guskov, the game director responsible for Enlisted.
Each player has a unit of up to nine soldiers – one of them the player controls directly, the rest follow orders. You can freely switch between active soldiers at any time to react to situations on the battlefield on an ongoing basis. After death, the player can continue the fight by taking control of one of the surviving squad members. This allows for an immediate counterattack without having to wait for respawns.
When the entire squad is eliminated, the player continues the fight playing the next available character: an infantry soldier belonging to one of the 12 available classes, a tank crew, or an airplane pilot. Thanks to this solution, during one battle, the player can face various tasks, such as charging in a tank, providing support as a mortar squad, building artillery positions as an engineer, cleaning buildings with flamethrowers, etc. firing from above from a dive bomber. Enlisted also has more traditional modes where each player only controls one soldier.
“Enlisted is our biggest premiere in many years – we intend to support and expand it.”Gaijin Entertainment co-founder Anton Yudintsev
The updated version of Enlisted includes new missions, weapons, and equipment that could not be seen during the Closed Beta. For example, the new Fortified District map in the Battle of Moscow campaign is a frozen battlefield where the attacking side crosses a river to storm a massive fortification in dynamically changing weather conditions.
The in-game progression system has also been significantly changed, and the main way to get new troops and gear is now through the Battle Pass. The first season of Battle Pass began on April 8 and will last for 75 days. The most interesting prizes include rare collector’s weapons: Berdan No. 2 and Gewehr 1888 rifles, or Schmeisser MK36 III SMG and Springfield M1903 semi-automatic rifles with a Pedersen device.
