Prime Matter and Dark Crystal Games have finally revealed the official release date of Encased, a new dystopian sci-fi RPG coming to PC. The developers have confirmed that the expected launch date is September 7, 2021, and on the occasion of the announcement, they shared a series of unpublished images.
Encased is set in an alternate 1976, during which a large and mysterious structure is discovered – Dome (the dome) – containing extraordinary technology that could advance humanity hundreds of years. The player will take on the role of one of the individuals selected to venture inside and live a long adventure full of choices that will shape the future of humanity.
The gameplay is similar to that of the old Fallout, with isometric view and turn-based combat. At the beginning of the adventure, the player is asked to choose one of the five classes (science, engineering, security, management, or detention). Then you will have to decide which factions to help and fight to reach the desired ending.
Encased will debut September 7, 2021, exclusively on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG). The introductory price is € 24.99 for the basic version and € 33.26 for the edition with the Supporter Pack (10 portraits for the character, a weapon, a pair of combat boots, and the official soundtrack). By pre-ordering the game, you will get immediate access to the first act and part of the second.
