FromSoftware and Bandai Namco released Elden Ring patch 1.04, with many changes to the balance of weapons, techniques, and spells. The update will surely make players with strength or intelligence-based builds happy, as the speed of some weapons and spells has been significantly improved. In contrast, the effectiveness of some player-abused spells has been reduced, with an increase in the cost of PM and cast time.
In most cases, this new patch brings positive changes to weapons and spells, which are now much more efficient, faster, and less expensive in terms of stamina or MP. Nerfs are counted on the fingers of one hand and involve just three spells, Swarm of Flies (bleeding builds up slower), Frenzy Blast and Flame of Frenzy (madness builds up slower), and the innate ability of the Rockblade sword of the Dragon King, now less efficient unless the attack is charged.
In addition to weapon buffs, patch 1.04 fixes some minor bugs and makes some fan-requested fixes. Among these, for example, it is no longer possible to inadvertently kill Millicent in the last part of her quest (now a barrier prevents players from killing her by accident), and some problems related to quests that did not progress for unclear reasons have been fixed, including those of Magiasterco and Diallos. Below you can take a look at the patch notes.
Elden Ring is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
