With the anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and the main contender for UFC Lightweight title Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier taking place this weekend, EA is preparing to launch a new update for its latest title in the sport.
Through a trailer entitled “Local Lad,” EA announced that UFC 4 would receive a new skin from McGregor, which is shown inside the montage recapitulating the controversial fighter’s entire career. This skin changed the athlete’s look to the same appearance he had when the first fight between him and Poirier took place in 2014.
At the time, McGregor was a rising featherweight fighter who was quickly capturing the world’s attention with his exaggerated personality and impressive knockout victories. During the fight with Poirier, he wore white shorts and had his hair tied in a ponytail.
This update will also include light heavyweight fighter Jiri Prochazka who will join the Octagon as a new playable fighter. He will face Dominic Reyes a little later in the year, which explains his inclusion. Finally, Andre Bishop and Isaac Frost were also unlocked for immediate use in the Heavyweight category.
Finally, heavyweight boxing champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are free via DLC on the PS Store until February 8. A new series of Fight Week challenges will be implemented with this update and will bring the following content for a limited time to be unlocked:
- 2x McGregor kits (shirt and shorts) that reflect Conor’s legendary quotes.
- Banners and other customized cosmetic items.
