Today, March 22, 2022, Electronic Arts have formalized the EA Sports PGA Tour postponement, its definitive golf experience. Instead of arriving on the market during the spring of 2022 will be released in 2023 in just over a year. EA has not explained the reasons for the postponement. Still, we imagine that it is a simple extension of the production time caused by the amount of content and quality standards self-imposed by the team, which has never hidden that they have extremely ambitious plans for the video game.
EA describes EA Sports PGA Tour as a game that will allow you to “experience golf in high fidelity thanks to the power of the Frostbite engine, with ultra-realistic graphics that will make fans feel as if they are right in the middle of the action on some of the courses most iconic in the world. ” The game will allow golf enthusiasts to play all four major championships, including the Masters’ Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open Championship, and The Open Championship. Players will also have the opportunity to build their legendary career by competing authentically at The Players Championship, FedExCup Playoffs, and Amundi Evian Championship, experiencing each tournament’s unique atmosphere and venues.
“There are few things in sport that match the excitement of winning a major championship, and we’re thrilled to bring all four majors to fans next year – the Masters’ Tournament, PGA Championship, US Open Championship, and The Open. Championship – and a true next-gen championship golf experience,” said Cam Weber, EVP, and GM of EA Sports. “Through our partnerships with the PGA TOUR and the LPGA, the all-new PGA TOUR athlete tracking integration and events such as The Players Championship and FedExCup Playoffs, players will be able to earn a full pass to professional golf like never before from now. “
EA Sports PGA Tour has been confirmed exclusively for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, but we imagine it is also planned for PC. Although this is a next-gen experience, the game may receive the same treatment as FIFA 22, with a “lite” version also available on PS4 and Xbox One.
