Battlefield 2042 will be officially available tomorrow, and both DICE and EA are very optimistic about the launch. Despite the good intentions and the excellent initial feedback, in the last week, a good part of users identified bugs, glitches, stability problems, and various gameplay criticalities that should be corrected as soon as possible, and apparently, Electronic Arts have already activated to solve major problems.
Starting today, November 18, 2021, patch 0.2.1 is available on all platforms, with which various bugs have been fixed, some animations fixed, and stability problems solved. This is not a massive or surprising update. Still, EA and DICE hope to improve the situation because of the launch tomorrow when the game will officially become available for all players. Patch notes can be found on the official Battlefield 2042 site.
Furthermore, EA has promised that two more important updates will be published next month or by December 19, 2021. The former will correct other problems uncovered by fans and reduce the number of bugs, while the latter will be “much more substantial,” but we do not know how it will improve the experience. Many fans have complained about the absence of voice chat and the end-of-game scoreboard (at the moment, it is impossible to see the score of other teams or the deaths of a player), so the hope is that the latest update of 2021 will make up for it, minus these two shortcomings.
Battlefield 2042 is available tomorrow, November 19, 2021, on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
