Ten years may not be a short time for EA to bring back their skateboard game series – Skate. But at least at the EA Playmat, which was just held this morning, finally, EA officially informed that the game that became a rival for the Tony Hawk series would soon get its new installation.
Near the end of the program, the Skate-Cuz Parry series producers and Game Director Deran Chung appeared and were surprised. In a short session, both of them showed their gratitude that they were finally able to rework the Skate series after waiting for the right amount of time.
Both of them showed their enthusiasm that the Skate series has returned, and will continue. But they also warned that they were still in the “Initial” stage and that there was still a long way to go. But they can not wait to show the results of their great work to gamers.
Chris Perry even joked about how he could not believe gamers are commenting on this (Skate 4) to become a reality, referencing the many comments on social media who want this series to come back.
The last skate series itself was released ten years ago in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 console platforms only. So maybe gamers in Indonesia, who at that time played a majority of PCs and laptops, might be unfamiliar with this one franchise and were more familiar with the Tony Hawk franchise. However, the latest Skate series may also visit the PC platform since EA is now also making PC as their main platform.
Unfortunately, as said that the latest Skate game is still in its initial stages, there is no additional information about this game. It seems we have to be patient first, but the good thing is that EA has wanted to bring back their old franchise. And maybe it will be followed by other classic franchises.
