In recent years, Electronic Arts have invested heavily in the world of cinecomics, securing Star Wars licenses and producing several successful video games, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Battlefront, and Squadrons. More recently, the Redwood studio has started a new collaboration with Marvel Games. Apparently, in future years it will follow a similar path by creating a multitude of new IPs, including the one dedicated to Iron Man.
On the occasion of the presentation of the new project dedicated to the iconic hero of the House of Ideas, EA announced that ” Iron Man is only the first of numerous new video games developed together with Marvel,” thus confirming the collaboration between the two parties will be lasting. According to Jeff Grubb, who correctly predicted the announcement of the Iron Man game, EA would also be working on a new IP focused on Black Panther. Still, this is only the first part of a much larger Roadmap.
Marvel lately is expanding a lot in the videogame field, as well as in the cinema and television one. Firaxis Games is working on Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the strategy video game due in December, while Insomniac Games is making Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine. Second Dinner Studios is also working on Marvel Snap, and Amy Henning’s studio is also producing an unnamed Marvel video game, which we saw during the Disney & Marvel Showcase on September 9th. Now we know that future projects also include many new titles produced by EA Games, an increasingly leading company in the field of adaptations.
