Since the pandemic, many schools and headquarters have started to plan work/study from home. This also applies to various events such as official races, tournaments, and video game exhibitions. Initially, many were quite difficult to adapt to, but now everyone has adapted quite quickly.
This also applies to the E3 event, which was canceled last year. Previously, ESA as the event organizer planned to present it in 2021 while hoping that the post-pandemic situation would improve. However, the harsh reality that happened forced them to cancel this year. The good news? They replace it online.
This was found by a ResetEra forum user named Rosti in a document. The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Development Commission’s Board ruled that the E3 2021 offline event will be canceled. They admit that they are working with ESA to replace it with an online event.
Although it has not been determined, it looks like E3 2021 will be held online only. The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Development Commission’s Council also said it was working together to license the event in 2022 and 2023.
Of course, it will be very interesting to see how ESA will enforce E3 2021 online, considering its “successor,” last year’s Summer Game Fest, is doing quite well.
