Techland has revealed that Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the zombie-themed adventure game due out on February 4 on consoles and PC, will require around five hundred hours of gameplay to be 100% complete. The overall duration is very long due to optional missions, collectibles, and grinding required to unlock all the protagonist’s skills. Still, according to the Polish studio, a classic run should take much less.
Techland broke the news on Twitter, posting an image comparing the game’s overall length to a walk from Warsaw to Madrid. Many fans said they were worried about the seemingly excessive duration. Still, the study made it clear that the numbers reported concern completism, while for those who want to enjoy the adventure, 70/80 hours of story and side missions will be enough.
However, the overall duration of Dying Light 2: Stay Human seems much higher than that of the first chapter, where story and side missions could be completed in just under forty hours, even on the highest difficulties. Techland has been working on the new chapter for almost five years and has stated that the game world will be four times larger than the prequel, so the conditions for a long-lasting experience are all there.
Dying light 2: Stay Human will be available worldwide starting February 4, 2022, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
