As announced, the strategy of Dune: Spice Wars has received a free update introducing multiplayer in the Arrakis deserts.
The production remains available in the Early Access phase on Steam, and the development – including the multiplayer mode – was announced some time ago. Now the promises have been fulfilled, offering “2v2” or “free-for-all” skirmishes for up to four participants.
The number makes sense because each player can lead a different of the four available factions. The free places in matches will be supplemented with artificial intelligence of various difficulty levels if we want. You can also customize the map size, maggot behavior, victory conditions, etc.
In addition, the latest update has also redesigned all development trees, focusing, among other things, on cooperation between factions – it sounds perfect for multiplayer. There are also attractions for lonely players: more regions, special events, buildings, etc.
In the future, we will receive a new faction (still in the summer) and, at a later date, more updates with spaceports and advanced units. There are also plans to develop the role of advisers who will be able to appear on the battlefield.
