DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One is the first major expansion in the history of DOOM Eternal and will be available as a standalone download.
Speaking to PCgamesN, executive producer Marty Stratton said the id Software team wanted the DLC to “reach as many people as possible.” And it will be a huge DLC, according to director Hugo Martin.
“Most people associate DLC with a smaller scope – it’s like the TV version of the movie, and the movie was the main game,” said Hugo. “For us, this is a lot like a two-part movie – it’s as big as the main game was.”
DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One had its trailer unveiled on Gamescom 2020 Opening Night Live. It is included in the Year One Pass, which comes with access to both DLCs and can also be purchased separately. The DLC will be available on October 20th.
