We already knew that Deathloop would be a limited-time console exclusive to PlayStation 5, but it’s only since the most recent trailer that we know when this will be. At the end of the trailer, we see that the exclusivity period will end on September 14, 2022.
As Kotaku noted, this date is exactly one year away from the release date of Deathloop for PS5 and PC. As a result, Xbox players at least know approximately how long they have to wait for the game to be available from Bethesda and Arkane Studios, which have recently become part of the Microsoft family.
Since all future Bethesda games will be available through Xbox Game Pass upon release, we can assume this will be the case with Deathloop as well. At the very least, this is only possible if there is no rule in the deal that makes this impossible.
Deathloop was the eye-catcher of PlayStation’s most recent State of Play, which showcased nearly nine minutes of new gameplay. The show also featured a release date and a new look at Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, the reveal of Moss: Book 2, and more.
