Anne Lewis, Senior Content Manager at Bethesda Softworks, recently spoke to the PlayStation Blog about Deathloop, revealing new details about the video game coming out on PS5 and PC in 2021. The woman said, in particular, about how the Arkane Studios guys have managed to take advantage of the new DualSense at 360 degrees, anticipating what could be the first, true next-gen experience capable of showing the real potential of the controller.
“The island of Backreef, where the adventures of Cole and Juliana take place, is very chaotic,” explained the representative of Bethesda, “every single inhabitant wants the blood of the protagonist, and the player must be able to escape this nightmare. The arsenal at Cole and Juliana’s disposal is incredible, and each gun has a different feel from the other. Take the PT-6 Spiker, an original weapon that uses nails as its main ammunition. With each reloads, players will individually feel the spikes being inserted into the magazine, and once the fire, they will feel the adaptive triggers resist touch. On the other hand, low-weight guns will have the risk of jamming, and in that case, the lats will give a locking sensation “.
According to Anne Lewis, the novelties are not limited to just gunplay, but rather show themselves above all during the exploration phases. Each movement performed will give a different sensation, from running to sliding, through climbing walls or teleporting. The speaker also seems to play a central role, with particular sounds that will be audible directly from the controller.
Deathloop will debut on May 21, 2021, in two versions, standard and deluxe. By pre-ordering either of them, you will be able to receive an exclusive weapon, a character costume, and a special ability called “One Trinket.” You can take a look at all the bonuses present in the deluxe edition in the image above.
