Behaviour Interactive will launch Dead by Daylight for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year, according to the developer’s announcement. Users who already have Dead by Daylight will receive the next-generation version on their new platform of choice for free, maintaining all progression.
While the next-generation versions of Dead by Daylight will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, a “massive graphic overhaul” of Dead by Daylight will also be launched.
According to Behavior Interactive, “the ultimate goal is to improve immersion ten times, making environments as realistic as a frightening and disturbing nightmare.”
This includes “widely updated” lighting and video effects, modeling, textures, and animations. More props will also be added to the maps, and appropriate functions will be provided to the rooms to make them more identifiable.
“The game you know and love is entering the future. The team has been focused on this plan for an entire year, and we are excited to present Dead by Daylight as you’ve never seen it before while offering new chapters and files. This is ambitious, and we are ready,” said Dead by Daylight director Mathieu Cote in a press release.
Visual improvements will be delivered every six weeks following the current Chapter and Archive script. A patch to be released next week will focus on common items such as cabinets, generators, palettes, and two maps.
Finally, Behaviour Interactive reconfirmed that cross-progression is coming to Dead by Daylight for Switch, PC (Steam), and Stadia. Using the new Behaviour account, players will be able to upload their progression from one platform to another.
