You may not know Dean Hall, but you will most likely be familiar with a survival game that was viral in 2013 – DayZ. Starting as a mod for Arma 2, DayZ was appointed as a full game by Bohemia Interactive with Dean Hall holding the position of lead designer. Unfortunately, he left the project and the studio long before the game was developed.
With the new studio, he leads RocketWertz, the creator of DayZ introduces a new game called Icarus on the PC Gaming Event held yesterday.
Icarus is a multiplayer co-op game with a survival genre. You and your friends will descend on an alien planet in minimal time in search of critical natural resources. Time is the central aspect of this game. You cannot be on earth forever, so everything must be done as soon as possible. If you run out of time, all your progress will be lost.
Icarus will be released as free-to-play and planned for release next year. Not yet explained what kind of microtransaction will be applied to this game, but hopefully, it doesn’t seem to be pay-to-win, especially with time mechanics, oxygen, and supply which are the primary key in this game. Icarus is currently only released for PCs and is planned for release in 2021.
