Crimson Desert will take longer than expected. The title developed by Pearl Abyss was originally scheduled for an unspecified period of 2021, but now it is sure that we will not see it this year, and no new launch window has yet been established.
To officially confirm this, the guys from Pearl Abyss with a message on Twitter explaining the reasons behind this postponement:
We are currently hard at developing Crimson Desert, which is rapidly evolving with new adventures and exciting experiences. However, we have decided that we need to dedicate more time to add new ideas for ad even deeper, more enriching game.
Therefore, to create the best possible experience, all the while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game, we decided to delay Crimson Dessert’s release. We will provide an updated schedule in the future.
In the message, the developers thank all the fans who have shown their support for the project since the reveal during the Game Awards 2020:
Thank you for your ongoing support. We wish you and your loved ones the best of health, and we’ll keep working hard so that we can meet all of you soon in Pywel.
Waiting to find out soon what will be the new launch window of the work, we remind you that Crimson Desert is not an MMO like Black Desert, the other well-known production of Pearl Abyss, which reiterated how the new title currently in development is geared towards a different and more action-focused experience.
