The monstrous Krampus introduced to Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard as part of a special holiday event have made players’ lives so unpleasant that some are demanding that the monster be removed.
Krampus has to go. I finished the game in the top five, and he started hunting me. He blew me away,” complains one fan on Reddit. “It’s already hard to win, let alone with less than ten people left on the map, and an almost impossible to kill the creature is hunting you.”
The goat demon comes from the Austrian-Bavarian Alpine folklore, where he deals with punishing children who were naughty on Christmas and cannot count on a visit from Santa Claus. Perhaps some players should rethink their behavior.
The monster is also in Vanguard, where it mostly hunts for players who do not complete the mission objectives. He’s a lot less picky in Warzone, and he seems random.
“I’ve been to a few end-of-game situations where Krampus is hunting me or my team, which ruins the game,” agrees another frustrated Call of Duty lover.
“Who thought it was a good idea for him to appear in the last circle? It ruined two games for me,” agrees someone else.
“Probably the worst addition in Warzone history,” adds an “ir3flex” without mincing words. “Strong words, taking into account some of the things introduced this year,” commented another player.
