It seems that NetEase continues to step on the gas to present new games to pamper mobile gamers. Having previously been confirmed that they were preparing the Lord of the Rings adaptation game with the genre strategy, the developer from the Bamboo Curtain country teased fans with a new teaser game that would have the title City.
Interestingly, at the end of the trailer, NetEase said that this game is being developed with Unreal Engine 4. As we know, Unreal Engine 4 itself has so far been successfully applied to mobile games, through Honkai Impact 3, Oceanhorn 2, and ported games from console versions to mobile, such as Life is Strange and Injustice 2. Of course, with the use of Unreal Engine 4 on the latest NetEase game, we will be presented with an open world genre mobile game with a stunning graphical display. From the trailer itself, it looks like City will have a post-apocalypse world theme, where you are required to survive. Even so, it is still unknown what threat this game will present, given NetEase also has a game with a similar theme about a zombie apocalypse in the game Life After.
It is exciting for us to see how is the behavior of Unreal Engine 4 in the gaming industry in the next few years, given the smartphone era, now has a qualified spec to maximize this one engine.
