Capcom has revealed that it “will not be able” to implement cross-save and crossplay between the Switch version and the future PC release.
After the confirmation that the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will launch on PC on January 12, 2022, players began to question how both versions would interact if it could be played with friends who were using another platform or transfer the version progress from Switch to PC.
Despite the increasing prevalence of crossover play and crossover play, Monster Hunter Rise will not use them to integrate the Nintendo Switch and PC versions. This was explained in a tweet on the official Monster Hunter account, in which Capcom acknowledged that they had explored the option, but “there is no possibility of implementing them right now.”
Monster Hunter Rise will be released on PC on January 12. Its expansion, Sunbreak, recently unveiled, will be released in the summer on both platforms.
