Call of Duty: Warzone will soon receive an upgrade for next-generation consoles, creative director Amos Hodge told Charlie INTEL. The update has no release date for the time being. Still, the developer has stated that several notable improvements will be made, including extremely reduced load times and support for 120 fps.
Just a few hours ago, Hodge hired Raven Software by stating that “the team is working on a multitude of different projects” and that “the developers have an avalanche of interesting ideas.”
Among the new projects, there also seems to be the long-awaited upgrade for Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5, which will most likely arrive by the end of 2021. The game’s popularity is skyrocketing with 100 million registered players and popularity that it rivals that of Fortnite and Apex Legends without problems. Hence, it makes sense that the team also starts thinking about the future when more and more users have managed to get their hands on next-gen hardware.
We only know that the title will be able to count on reduced loading times and support for 120 fps, but Hodge also stated that when there is a dedicated team working on the upgrade, we can expect some more surprises.
