Call of Duty: Vanguard has returned to show itself during the Gamescom 2021 Opening Night Live, with a long gameplay video of the main campaign. The video, captured completely in-engine, shows scenes from the story starring the Russian sniper Polina Petrova, inspired by the famous Lyudmila Michajlovna Pavličenko.
Creative Director David Swenson unveiled the first gameplay video, stating that Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a one-of-a-kind campaign, and Laura Bailey (Abby in The Last of Us: Part 2 ) will play Polina Petrova, one of the protagonists.
The long gameplay video shows one of the story missions, in which Polina must fight her way through the ranks of enemies in the city of Stalingrad. The player will be able to exploit stealth, environmental destruction, and much more to better the enemies. The technical sector is exceptional, as well as sound design and animations.
