Many of you will remember that Activision announced plans to bring Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile last March, which is not a surprise considering the incredible success of COD: Mobile and other similar games, including PUBG Mobile, among all. The company has announced that the project is under development under another name, Call of Duty: Project Aurora, and that the first closed tests have already begun.
Call of Duty: Warzone is Activision’s free battle royale shooter, which has proved to be an extraordinary success worldwide and one of the most profitable titles around, given the huge earnings brought by microtransactions. As many of you know, the number of players with a console or a gaming PC is minimal compared to users with a smartphone, so recently, Activision decided to work on a Warzone port for iOS and Android to make it available to an even wider user base.
Today, Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Project Aurora, the working name of this project, currently in development and without a release date. The company describes the game as “an intense, precise, and quality battle royale experience that offers a new way to play, and that can unite friends, families, and people from all over the world in a global and inclusive community.” The game is in the Closed Alpha phase, and if the tests go well, it could even see the light in 2022.
