According to publisher 505 Games, a sequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night may develop. During a presentation of results for the third fiscal quarter of 2020/2021, the publisher listed some notes for the game. One of the last ones said, ‘The second version in development, which may indicate that a continuation of the game would be coming soon.
Although ‘Second Development Version’ is a strange term for a sequel, the term was also used for the presentation of Ghostrunner, which has already had its sequel announced.
Before its release, the content was promised for the game when the $5 million goals were met. It was surpassed in 2015, and the content would be a Roguelike Dungeon mode, which would reach the post-launch game. Later, on the campaign page, director Koji Igarashi apologized and explained that the mode could not be applied to the game because the code created at the beginning of the game’s development is not currently compatible with this type of game gameplay.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
