The multiplayer mode that will support All-Out Warfare and Hazard Zone in the highly anticipated Battlefield 2042 has finally been unveiled. During the EA Play Live 2021 showcase, DICE and Ripple Effect Studios (the new name of the Los Angeles branch of the software house ) presented to the community of the Battlefield Portal shooter. This mode will revolutionize the videogame ecosystem by drawing on some of the most beloved chapters of the saga to expand the gaming experience.
What is Battlefield Portal? As the name suggests, in a “portal” that fishes heavily from maps, equipment, and weapons, but also the classes, factions, and vehicles seen in Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, re-proposing them to ‘ Battlefield 2042 interior.
Six maps remastered in 4K and adapted to accommodate up to 128 players (on PC and latest generation consoles), among which El Alamein and Battle of the Bulge stand out( Battlefield 1942 ), Arica Harbor and Valparaiso ( Battlefield: Bad Company 2 ), Caspian Borders and Noshahr Canals ( Battlefield 3 ). To these will be added the seven maps present in the All-Out Warfare mode.
The Battlefield Portal mode will therefore allow you to relive the traditional gaming experiences of three of the most popular chapters using more than 40 weapons, numerous classes, over 40 vehicles, many factions, and more than 30 equipment of the past, which will be integrated organically into the Battlefield 2042 interior.
The real highlight is characterized by a builder that will allow the community to create customized game experiences by choosing between different parameters through the appropriate editor, which you will have the opportunity to insert in a match all the elements of the old chapters of the saga and those of the new chapter in a personal way.
Battlefield Portal will be included at the launch of Battlefield 2042, scheduled for October 22 on PC, PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S. Electronic Arts has confirmed that the latest multiplayer mode, Hazard Zone, will be unveiled in the coming weeks, while the open beta will be available in September to allow all players to experience the new essence of the shooter. Those who pre-order a copy of Battlefield 2042 will get early access to the beta.
