Absence this year is undoubtedly a little sad news for Battlefield fans. However, given the situation and conditions that are not possible, especially with the extra development time, fans certainly hope to give EA and DICE more time. To make Battlefield 6 have further innovation, considering that the next-gen console is ready to be launched by the end of the year.
And one of the other improvements EA is reportedly preparing is creating a multiplayer map that can accommodate 2x the number of players from their previous games. We certainly know that the battles in past Battlefield games have been massive, with 64 player battles on a large map.
Meanwhile, the latest news from one of the COD and Battlefield leakers named Tom Henderson said they were designing a map for 128+ players. However, he also mentioned that it does not mean that the game itself will automatically contain 64 vs 64 players because the standard game is still 32 vs 32 players.
This might be disappointing because we cannot be guaranteed that we will be able to see a 64 vs 64 game that is undoubtedly more massive and colossal. But maybe EA and DICE have a longer-term projection for this 128 player map. They could have made this map for other things outside of the standard two camp game or for various modes, including the battle royale, which Tom Henderson also said in his other tweets that have increased interest.
Given that Battlefield itself has not yet entered the world of battle royale, there is little chance that they could prepare a competitive game for COD: Warzone, which is gaining success later. Moreover, Apex Legends, EA’s other battle royale game, is still famous and continues to attract new players who can become a benchmark for EA if they want to create a battle royale version of Battlefield later.
