More than three years separate us from the release of Battlefield V, the last chapter of the successful DICE saga, enriched in the following months, with numerous DLCs that have expanded the single-player story multiplayer. However, the time seems ripe for a new Battlefield, the announcement of which, according to what was declared by Jeff Grubb, journalist of Venture Beat, would be scheduled for May.
The indiscretion was released by Grubb during his last live on YouTube yesterday (26:35 minutes of the video below). In January of this year, EA had stated that DICE was very far ahead with the development of the new Battlefield and that the latter would be unveiled during this spring, so the rumours reported by Grubb would actually be in keeping with the statements of Electronic Arts.
We don’t know much about the new Battlefield other than what was discussed in EA’s latest investor conference in February about Q3 2020 results. Speaking of the upcoming Battlefield, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson said:
“The game will take full advantage of the power of next-generation platforms to bring realistic battles to life with even more players than ever before. With the largest maps ever, the next edition of Battlefield will bring all the destruction, vehicles and combat with the weapons the franchise is known for and elevate it to another level. “
In short, the premises are all there. Now we have to wait for EA and DICE’s next move to see if the rumours reported by Jeff Grubb will actually prove to be right or not.
