Bandai Namco unexpectedly presented Dragon Ball: The Breakers, a Dead by Daylight-style cooperative multiplayer video game in 2022 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch, and compatible with next-gen consoles. The game is available for preorder right now on the official website, and a Closed Beta will soon be available exclusively for PC users.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers will allow players to take on the role of one of the franchise’s celebrated antagonists, the “Reaper,” or one of the seven “Survivors” without any superpowers. The Reaper will have to use all his overwhelming force to eliminate the “Survivors,” simple civilians trapped in a temporal rift in which space and time are in chaos. At the same time, the survivors must work together to fend off the Reaper and escape using the Super Machine weather. Players will also be able to use different items on the battlefield to try and escape strategically.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers will be set in the same universe as Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Bandai Namco has already confirmed that players will be able to import their saves from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The gameplay is similar to that already seen in video games such as Dead by Daylight and Propnight, with a group of survivors intent on escaping an arena as the monster (in this case, one of Dragon Ball’s supervillains) hunts them down.
