Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in early access since September 30th and continues to improve month after month. The role-playing game from Larian Studios has stellar expectations to meet, and the feedback from fans is proving to be a great help, but despite the great commitment from the developers, it has been confirmed that the title will not see the light in the course of 2021.
The confirmation comes directly from CEO Swen Vincke, who in a recent interview with GameSpot microphones revealed the following: “We care about this game and we really want to ensure the best possible experience for fans, creating an RPG that excites them and that respect their choices. To do this, however, we need time. We are aiming to release the game next year but unfortunately the pandemic has slowed down the work a lot, so we can’t really guarantee anything. “
Subsequently, the developer confirmed that the new updates would arrive soon, with many new features introduced thanks to the feedback from fans. For the moment, we only know that some changes will be made to the mechanics inspired by D&D to make them clearer and more accessible to new players and that one of the next updates will focus on the fight against the white weapon, considered by many to be extremely less effective of magic.
As for the release on PS5 and Xbox Series X, Vincke preferred not to answer, but considering that some time ago he had ruled out the possibility of seeing the game on PS4 and Xbox One, we are optimistic for a release on next-gen consoles. . Of course, given the production times, it is difficult to imagine that the release could take place before 2023.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available in early access on PC (via Steam or GOG) and Google Stadia. Early Access guarantees immediate access to all available content and can be purchased for € 59.99.
