It took about six months, but it looks like the next-gen upgrade of Assassin’s Creed Origins is ready for release. The free update announced last December would introduce 60fps on both next-generation consoles, and a few hours ago, Ubisoft warned fans that “the wait is almost over.” The actual announcement could arrive tomorrow, June 1, the day the games coming to Xbox Game Pass will be revealed.
The next-gen upgrade of Assassin’s Creed Origins popped up in the PlayStation database on May 19, when the update was supposed to be released between the 24th and 26th of the current month. The announcement did not arrive at the end. However, considering that Assassin’s Creed Origins will arrive on Game Pass on June 7, it is still possible that Ubisoft has decided to voluntarily postpone the launch and make it coincide with the release of the game in the Microsoft service catalog.
Tomorrow, June 1, Microsoft will announce the names of all games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the first half of June, and we expect confirmation of the release of the Assassin’s Creed Origins upgrade. Even if not, Ubisoft’s post confirms that the update’s launch is imminent, so soon, all fans of the series will have a good reason to return to climbing pyramids with Bayek.
