A new chapter in the Armored Core series may develop at FromSoftware and should go into full production soon after Elden Ring is released. The indiscretion comes from ResetEra, where a user recently claimed to have got their hands on a FromSoftware survey which would contain various information on the video game in question. Initially labeled as not very credible, the information turned out to be much more reliable than expected, given that in the last few hours, the first images of the game and a screenshot of the survey in question have begun to appear on the net.
“The game is a third-person shooter with mecha in which the player moves freely around the scenario,” reads the screenshot of the survey, “with the possibility of exploring a vast, action-packed sci-fi world.” The survey also talks about a “unique and profound sci-fi world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware, with a deep and structured story and a sense of grandeur that only mechas can guarantee.”
The rest of the information reveals some details on the gameplay, but the real proof is the censored images attached below, definitely much more realistic than many expected.
Armored Core is one of FromSoftware’s most popular series, with five main chapters and more than fifteen spin-offs released from 1997 to the present. Miyazaki’s studio released the last chapter in 2012 and skipped the eighth generation, and it may intend to leverage Elden Ring’s popularity to revive the series.
