It’s not long before we have access to Apex Legends Season 13. Named Saviors, the novelty will bring from traditional increments, such as a new legend and modifications to one of the maps and new modifications that can bring an up to the game, not to mention its Mobile version. Find out what to expect this month before heading off to new battles.
Welcome Newcastle
The new character, Newcastle, has already been revealed and is confirmed for Season 13. However, as his abilities have not yet been revealed, we are waiting for everything about the new legend. Until then, Respawn Entertainment, the company responsible for the game, released a new trailer for Stories from the Outlands: Hero, which tells more of the story of the new legend.
It’s time to break the crab
One of the things that caught the most attention in the launch trailer for the new season of Apex Legends will also continue to draw attention in the game. One of the main changes on the map is the giant sea monster (which more resembles a crab mutant with shrimp, lobster, and other sea creatures), defeated by the legends together and will be a strong presence Stompoint map.
Jeff Shaw, the designer of Apex Legends, described the monster’s carcass as “a loot-filled piñata,” which offers players several different approaches. In addition to being able to explore the creature’s innards, you’ll also be able to climb on its back, which will give you a height advantage against opposing teams. With this, Respawn wants to create a point of interest with high-level items, which will turn the place into a hot spot for more competitive players.
And what else will we have in May?
However, another novelty that can draw even more attention than the fallen monster on the map is the IMC Armorials. As seen in the trailer, they are places that scan players who want to enter and are locked inside with them for a kind of one-minute minigame, where it will be necessary to defeat waves of Spectres – robots controlled by the game’s AI. This PvE element of Apex Legends will count downed opponents, and the more you and your team takedown, the better the rewards, which will improve the equipment that has been scanned.
But what if that means an ideal place for ambushes? “There are windows inside the Armories,” reveals Samantha Kalman, Senior Designer for Apex. “And there are also two exits, the main ramp and the roof, which has a launcher. It’s 60 seconds of battle, which doesn’t allow anyone else to enter, so it would be 60 seconds that I could be collecting my loot instead of waiting for whoever is inside, who will have the opportunity to have better equipment”, explains Samantha.
Then came the question: where is it better to collect my loot? In the crab or the armorial? “It depends on what you want (laughs),” replied Jess Shaw, the game’s level designer. “If you’re starting to get down on the map and want better starting gear, maybe crab is better, but how many of you won’t have that idea? As for the Armories, I would leave it to something in the middle of the game.”
These will be additions to the elements we already know, such as the nests of Prowlers and Spiders, which makes the map even more infested in its new version. In addition, the Respawn team also revealed that May will also mark the news of Apex Legends Mobile and that we will soon know more about the pocket version of this shooter game.
Apex Legends: Saviors Season 13 arrives May 10th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC, and we’re already looking forward to testing what’s new.
