Frictional Games has released a new patch for Amnesia: Rebirth, introducing 60 fps for the PS5 version and a new mode for the less brave, called “Adventure Mode” and inspired by the “Safe Mode” released in 2015 for SOMA. The update is available from today and will also bring with it some other small news.
The adventure mode, in fact, is much more accurate than it seems and has several unique mechanics. First of all, the monsters will continue to exist and roam the game levels, but they will no longer attack the protagonist. This will allow users to enjoy the story without problems, although the developers have confirmed that a handful of new puzzles have been introduced to balance the absence of enemies. Adventure mode also features brighter scenarios and completely removes the fear of the dark mechanics.
Performance-wise, the PS5 version now runs at a fixed 60fps, while on PS4, the game remains stuck at 30fps. If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience Tasi’s adventure, this is certainly the best opportunity to recover the title. If you miss it, you can read our Amnesia: Rebirth review here.
Amnesia: Rebirth is available on PS4, PS5, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).
