AMD unveiled the most powerful Zen 3 laptop processors available at CES 2021 on January 11-14.
The most powerful models Ryzen 9 5980HX and Ryzen 9 5900HX, are equipped with eight cores and a total amount of L2 and L3 cache memory of 20 MB. The older version’s clock speed reaches 4.6 GHz, and the 5900HX operates at a frequency of up to 4.8 GHz. Their nominal TDP is 45 W, while both chips support overclocking, and therefore their heat dissipation in certain laptop models may be higher.
The entire Ryzen 5000H line includes eight chips, of which the most budgetary is the six-core Ryzen 5 5600HS with a frequency of 3-4.2 GHz. According to AMD, Ryzen 9 5900HX is 19% faster than Intel Core i9-10980HK in single-threaded computing, 35% faster in multi-threaded computing, and 19% faster in gaming physics.
AMD unveiled two more processor lines at CES 2021. Ryzen 5000Us are also energy efficient and designed for laptops; however, they are less powerful than 5000H. Ryzen Threadripper PRO is the most powerful desktop solution in three variations. In particular, the flagship 64-core 3995WX with a frequency of 2.7-4.2 GHz is equipped with 288 MB of cache memory, and its TDP indicator reached 280 W.
