Nintendo is back with another edition of its Indie World Showcase event, giving Nintendo Switch owners a glimpse into the future of indie gaming on their latest platform. The 20-minute show features updates and new reveals about exciting upcoming games, and we’ve rounded up all the announcements.

Ooblets

Ooblets launched in Early Access on Xbox and PC in July 2020, and Switch owners will soon be able to visit its adorable world when it launches on the platform in summer 2022. In addition to farming and training creatures called Ooblets, players will also have to help Badgetown grow and prosper. Like Animal Crossing, Ooblets gives players the freedom to customize, create, make friends with their neighbors, and more. Oh, and you’ll be able to participate in “epic dance battles.”

Batora: Lost Haven

Batora: Lost Haven is an “Interplanetary Action RPG” that aims to mix a hack-and-slash game with the best of a twin-stick shooter. As Avril, a 16-year-old girl, players will have to use her powers to save her planet after a catastrophic event.

This adventure will be released on Switch in fall 2022.

ElecHead

Nama Takahashi created a prototype of ElecHead as part of a school contest, and Switch players will soon have the chance to try it out for themselves when it launches in summer 2022. As a little robot named Elec, players will have they “bring light back into the world” using the electricity that activates objects when Elec comes into contact with them. He can also try to help solve these challenges, but a 10-second shutdown timer will ensure his mind and heart aren’t apart for too long.

Soundfall

If you’ve ever wished your dungeon crawlers had a little more music, Soundfall is worth looking at. This rhythm-based dungeon crawler from Drastic Games and Noodlecake puts players in the shoes of a Guardian of Harmony who must put down the forces of Discord. If you can keep up, you’ll become even more powerful, and over 140 songs and four-player local and online multiplayer will keep things fresh for many games to come. And the best? It is available from today.

Wildfrost

Wildfrost is the latest installment in the deckbuilding genre, adding tactical and roguelike elements and asking players to stop an eternal frost. In addition to the standard card-based game, players will customize and upgrade companion cards, build a hub city, and much more.

Wildfrost is coming to Switch this Christmas.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator took the PC world by storm in 2019 when it allowed players to predict Game of Thrones battles and whether Steam was better than the Epic Games Store. The amount of customization is one of the strongest aspects of TABS, allowing you to create the war scenario of your dreams and watch it hilariously unfold.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is coming to Switch this summer.

Gunbrella

Gunbrella puts everyone’s favorite tool for deflecting rain, the umbrella, in the starring role, as it will help players make their way through a “noir-punk” world that could very well lose all of its natural resources if nothing is done about it. Players will upgrade the Gunbrella and interact with a diverse cast of characters.

Gunbrella will be released on Nintendo Switch in 2023.

We Are OFK

We Are OFK is a “band-building journey” that will take players through the ups and downs of trying to make a dream come true in Los Angeles. This playable animation series starring Itsumi Saito and a full voice cast will be released this summer, with new episodes being released weekly.

Silt

Spiral Circus and Fireshine Games will send players into a “haunting ocean abyss” to solve mind-bending puzzles in SILT, which launches on Switch in June 2022. As they explore this underwater world, players will possess sea creatures to solve puzzles and interact with and discover the ocean’s many secrets.

Mini Motorways

Dinosaur Polo Club wants to empower its players to fix its traffic problems at Mini Motorways. The main mission of this game, first released on Apple Arcade in 2019, is to design the roads of a city to serve its citizens’ interests. While things may start simple, the highways and roundabouts and improvements will keep players on their toes and task them with keeping up with ever-changing demand.

Mini Motorways will be available on Switch later today.

Wayward Strand

Wayward Strand will allow players to become teenage journalists Casey Beaumaris and travel to a “curious flying hospital” filled with patients and heartwarming stories. In addition to learning more about those currently in the hospital, Beaumaris will also have to find out more about the place she has suddenly found herself in.

Set in rural Australia in the 1970s, Wayward Strand features over a dozen characters to follow, and you can choose which stories you want to see unfold during a given match. Experience this world for yourself when Wayward Strand launches on Switch on July 21, 2022.

Cult of the Lamb

The action-adventure game Cult of the Lamb and its randomly generated world is set to release on Switch later this year and puts players in the hooves of a possessed lamb who was “saved from annihilation by a prescient outsider.” Players will have to pay off their debt throughout the game by building a community, conquering dangerous dungeons, amassing resources, and much more.

Another Crab’s Treasure

Aggro Crab’s “crustacean-themed soulslike,” Another Crab’s Treasure, stars a hermit crab who uses over 50 different shells to overcome some of the most dangerous threats under this world’s polluted waters sea. Crab’s Treasure is coming to Switch in 2023.

The Nintendo Indie World Showcase features a montage of other upcoming games

Although these games weren’t featured in their segment, today’s Indie World Showcase featured a montage of some upcoming indie titles, including Card Shark, A Guidebook of Babel, OneShot: World Machine Edition, Cursed to Golf, and Idol Manager.
