The creator of Abandoned has finally started to reveal the first details of the game’s story. Despite being announced a year ago, almost nothing has been shown of this mysterious game that has been shrouded in many controversies.
Little more was shown than a character walking alone through a forest, but it was enough to get the audience excited for more details. Many began comparing it to titles like PT, a playable teaser for Silent Hills. As a result, it was speculated that this would be Hideo Kojima’s next game, using all these techniques as marketing to make the game go viral.
It is common to the author since Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was announced as projects developed by other teams. It was only later revealed that Kojima was behind the development.
Be that as it may, the alleged creator, Hasan Kahraman, was in an interview on the recent episode of the Sacred Symbols podcast, in which he talked a little about the production of the game, then revealed the first details of the story.
According to Kahraman, the narrative centers on a man named Jason Longfield, the distant younger brother of a cult leader. Jason will not be alone in this story, he will meet companions along his journey, but Jason will have to deal with several challenges that force him to join his brother (via comicbook).
For now, Abandoned remains without an announced release window, with many believing it would have been canceled. Blue Box Game Studios stresses that it continues to work on the game’s development.
