A Plague Tale: Innocence, Asobo Studio’s action-adventure released in 2019, will soon receive an upgrade for next-generation consoles that will allow players to experience the experience in 4K UHD and with a fixed frame rate of 60fps. On July 6, this is the launch date of the free upgrade; the highly anticipated edition for Nintendo Switch will also be published, downloadable only via the Cloud.
The trailer published by Focus Game Interactive confirms that all users in possession of the game on PS4 and Xbox One will download the upgrade at no additional cost. In contrast, Xbox users, in particular, will play the title for free thanks to the Game Pass.
As for the technical specifications, the video does not reveal whether several graphics options will be available that will prioritize resolution and frame rate or whether the game will always run at 4K UHD / 60fps. No words also for the Xbox Series S version, which presumably will count on improved frame rates and a slightly more modest resolution.
A Plague Tale: Innocence returns in an improved version on 6 July 2021 and represents the perfect opportunity to experience the adventure of Amicia and Hug while waiting for A Plague Tale: Requiem, the new chapter coming out in 2022.
