2K Games has big plans for E3 2021. Sadly they have been leaked in a Reddit post. Those plans include a Borderlands spin-off with Tiny Tina, a new Marvel game, and an action game in very early development.
Journalist Jason Schreier has posted a tweet confirming 2K’s leak but adding that he is “not sure that everything is going to be at E3. ” That is, 2K has more prepared.
Going back to the Reddit post, the 2K announcements at E3 will include a title from the Borderlands universe codenamed Daffodil, potentially dubbed Wonderlands or Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (both 2K trademarks). It is said to have a similar gameplay style to other Borderlands games and feature playable ” multiclass heroes. “
Another ad is a turn-based action game with Marvel characters. According to the leak source, it is described as ” XCOM with Marvel heroes ” and could have some ” famous actors ” voicing the characters.
There is also another project called “Codename Volt,” an action game that ” seems to be in very early development ” and was described as ” Cthulu meets Saints Row. ” It’s unclear which studio is developing this game, though the leaker noted that last year Hangar13 was working on an “open-world sci-fi title with supernatural elements ,” which it could be.
Finally, it will not be surprising to learn that NBA 2K22 will also be presented and that it will have Dirk Nowitzki on the cover, although other athletes may appear in other issues.
2K has not commented on anything officially, and we know that it plans to launch 21 games between now and March, four of which are ” immersive base launches ” and two new franchises. One of those new franchises is being created by Gearbox, although a Tiny Tina spin-off probably doesn’t count as a new franchise in this case, so there might be something else.
