2K Games has announced that it will shut down the servers for WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20 on June 30th. Online game features will no longer be available.
The announcement was made via Twitter and means that it will no longer be possible to experience the multiplayer aspect of WWE 2K19 and 2K20. Titles are still accessible offline, so players can continue to jump in and experience Career Mode.
WWE 2K19, in particular, is being remembered with nostalgia by fans. WWE 2K20, on the other hand, will not be remembered so fondly, as critics and the gaming community notoriously poorly received the title.
The poor reception of WWE 2K20 led to a cancellation of the 2021 edition, with the franchise returning this year via WWE 2K22.
The return to the ring seems to be going well, with WWE itself praising the game. However, 2K Games has a new contender in the wrestling game market: Yuke’s AEW Fight Forever.
